Bahama Mama
(The Key West Escape, #2)

Published by: Firefly Hill Press
Publication date: May 8th, 2018
Genres: Adult, Adventure, Romance
Perfect for fans of Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Janet Evanovich, this action-packed sequel to Rum Runner from a fresh voice in contemporary romance offers a sexy and comedic take on love, adventure, and what it means to trust your heart.
Troubles are piling up for Molly MacBain. Between navigating the moods of an increasingly sassy teenage daughter, battling mounting financial difficulties, and dealing with her daughter’s deadbeat dad, Molly certainly doesn’t need any more stress in her life. But when she learns that her best friend, Sophie, has been keeping a huge secret from her, she’s beyond bowled over. Apparently, Sophie’s soon-to-be brother-in-law is Molly’s idol, country music superstar Anders Ostergaard and after years on the country music circuit herself, Molly can’t help but have a fan-girl moment when she finally meets him.
Anders flies to Key West to attend his brother’s wedding and keep a low profile after a Vegas scandal makes him a tabloid target. Usually, he has a strict rule about getting involved with fans, but Molly MacBain’s sharp wit and refreshing openness draws him in like no one has before.
But romance and flirting take a backseat when Molly’s daughter witnesses a murder and winds up in Jamaica. Anders offers Molly the use of his private plane to bring her home and together, they set off for Montego Bay. Between racing against her ex’s impending visit and the hitman hunting for the witness to his crime, both Molly and Anders are completely unaware they’re being stalked by an even greater danger.
In the sultry Caribbean, Anders and Molly discover when a man who’s sworn off love and a woman who guards her heart can’t keep their hands off of each other, something’s gotta give. If their luck doesn’t run out first.

 ~AUTHOR INTERVIEW with Tricia Leedom~

1.) What gave you the inspiration for the storyline?

I wanted to set a series in Key West, one of my favorite places on the planet, and I love adventure stories so that’s where the idea for The Key West Escape Series came from. For Bahama Mama, I knew that Molly was going to be the heroine in the second book from the moment I created her character in book 1 (Rum Runner). When I started thinking about who the hero would be, Jimmy’s brother Anders seemed like the obvious choice, and I thought, how fun would it be to explore the fantasy of having a romantic adventure with your celebrity crush?

I’m a huge Outlander fan and very active in the Outlander fandom. I’ve met the cast, the creators, and attended three season premieres of the show. I know a lot of people who are very passionate fans, I’m one myself, so it was easy for me to relate to Molly and imagine what it would be like to be in her shoes. I actually came face to face with my own personal celebrity crush a few years ago and I’m grateful to be able to say it went way better than Molly’s first encounter with Anders.

2.) Are there any hidden themes in the book that you hope readers will discover?

I don’t write with a particular theme in mind but rather try to let them emerge in an organic way. However, some themes I see reoccurring in this series pertain to trust - trusting yourself, trusting your heart, and trusting fate. And in turn risking your heart for love. I think these themes match the adventurous nature of the story.

3) Are any of the characters based on real people you know?

The character of Sue Martin is based on a former manager and mentor of mine from my early twenties. She was from Alaska and used to wear long, gauzy skirts with combat boots just like Sue. She gave great advice, taught me how to be an independent woman, and looked out for me. I thought she was the coolest person on the planet. Unfortunately, we lost touch several years ago.

4) Who has influenced you most as a writer?

My grandmother. She was an avid romance reader and always had a book in her hand. But more than that, she listened to my stories when I was a little girl and encouraged my imagination. My greatest regret is that she didn’t live to see my novels published, but I know she would have been my biggest fan. I dedicated my first novel to her.

5) If you could have any three literary characters over to your place for game night, who would you invite, what would you play, what would you serve, and why?

Jamie Fraser, spin the bottle, and whisky. I know that is only one literary character, but I can’t help it if the other invitations got lost in the mail and it ended up just being the two of us, now can I? ;) If you read Outlander or watched the television series based on the book, I don’t need to explain why I’d want to hang out with Jamie for the evening. (Is it weird I’ve had a crush on a fictional character for more than two decades?)

6) Do you feel that you can ever have too many books?

Never. I saw a meme on Facebook recently that said books are the only thing you can have too many of and not be considered a hoarder. I thought that was funny but so true. I still love reading paperback books, but I’m trying to convert to eBooks.
