I've waited my whole life to catch her. They call her a criminal. A con-woman. A thief and too wild for her own good. But me? I just call her mine.  --Officer Nathan Trent

He's one of the good guys. Honorable. Reliable. I’ve loved him since we were kids. But there's no way I’ll let my wild ways tarnish his squeaky clean reputation. No matter how badly I wish he was mine.  --Tillie Coletrain

ridiculous shenanigans, and surprise weddings. You’re welcome.

~ BOOK REVIEW for Miss Understood ~

***(3) out of 5 stars!

Unlike the prior volume in this series, which was an insta-love romance, this story is one of the longest slow-burn love stories around!  Nate and Tillie get the hots for each other in high school, but due to various circumstances, they don't act on their feelings for YEARS!  Even when Nate finally does so, Tillie is more than a little reluctant to get involved with him.  Not that she isn't immensely attracted to him, but she doesn't belive herself worthy of such a great guy; and, more so, worries about what others in their small town will think of him if he starts seeing her.

A lot of the premise was quite absurd, especially the late-night goings-on involving various members of the community.  And the last-minute, before-dawn, total surprise of a wedding was absolutely ridiculous.  There is no way you can get me to believe that Tillie would agree to a wedding without her sister present, no matter how estranged they may have become.  The entire incident with Hannah was also quite hard to believe, although it was fun enough to suspend my disbelief just enough.

Overall, this was a fun, spicy, romantic read with lots of bizarre happenings, but also lots of feel good moments and fun goings-on.  Definitely good for a quick read when you need a break and a bit of a pick-me-up.

I received a free eBook copy of this title from Social Butterfly PR,
and have willingly provided an honest review.
