~ BOOK REVIEW for Rebel ~
****(4) out of 5 Stars
This is the second book in the series, but the first one that I've read. I liked it well enough that I'd definitely pick up the others.
There are a lot of smexy times to this story! In fact, other than the prologue set years in the past, it starts off right in the midst of such a time. Hayes thinks this is finally the start of something between him and Deputy Megan Hager. Turns out though, she is not anywhere near done playing hard to get. First she refuses to see him, then she won't open up to him about some major drama happening in her life. Even to the point that she repeatedly pushes him away. He is not, however, one to be easily deterred. Hayes sticks to her like glue, showing his true colors. Megan has had her faith in men so shaken in the past that she doesn't dare believe what is right in front of her. It takes repeated interventions, not all of them exactly legal, before she finally believes that he means what he says about sticking around.

I arched a brow. “Are you daring me to disarm you, baby doll? Because I had a different kind of tussling in mind tonight, but I am totally down with whatever gets you hot.” Her eyes narrowed, but I saw a gleam of interest in them. She hit the release button to drop the magazine cartridge from the Glock then pulled back the slide to spit the live round out onto the floor. She loosened her shoulders. “Show me what you’ve got, big guy.” As much as I loved throwing my weight around in bed with Megan, in this scenario, I was loath to manhandle her. This was a losing proposition. As in, I’d better let her win because me winning would definitely be the wrong move. How did I know this? The gun to the head was a pretty solid giveaway. I eyed her for a solid ten seconds before my hand shot out to knock her wrist up. She landed an impressive karate-style kick in the center of my chest that knocked me back and out of range. This was how she wanted to play? “You’re toying with me,” she accused. “Nah.” I held my hand out for the weapon, and this time she handed it over. When she did, I caught her wrist and spun her around until her back hit my front, and I could restrain her from behind. Our arms were banded about her torso, and my hard dick was nestled against her perfect ass. “I just wait for the right opportunities,” I murmured against her ear.

Avery + Deck's Story
MacKenzie Decker was a question Avery never got to ask, much less answer.
They met when she was a young reporter fueled by ambition, and the ink on Deck's first NBA contract was barely dry. Years later, they've climbed so high and lost so much, but one thing hasn't changed. The attraction that simmered between them in a locker room before is still there. With success like theirs, everything has been possible . . . except them.

I was a world-class runner once.
My dreams had wings spun from wind and speed.
Every time out of the blocks was a glorious flight.
But then I crashed and burned.
When I lost my leg, I thought it was the finish line
Little did I know, life was just beginning
Now they call me “America’s Titanium Sweetheart.”
(What can I say? It tested well. LOL)
The life I thought was over is moving so fast.
I have my own gym, a fitness app, a clothing line, and an endless trail of endorsements.
One thing there’s never time for? Love.
One thing I don’t have time for? Games.
Come real, or don’t come at all. In a field full of players, I’m looking for a real one.
Otherwise, I won’t stop.
Ean
I had hoops dreams. I wanted to be like Mike, jump like Magic and soar like Dr. J.
But a college injury grounded me. What I thought was game over, actually opened up a whole new world.
Fast forward to now. I’m coaching some of the NBA’s best.
They call me The Machine because I’m obsessed with stats and data, and my near-photographic memory means I remember every play.
I see the court clearly. But I never saw her coming. Quinn Barrow stops me in my tracks.
Pursuing my first championship, there’s been no time for love.
I’m more than willing to chase her, but will she slow down long enough to be caught?
She's a knockout who leaves sunshine and mayhem in her wake.

~ BOOK REVIEW for Alpha's Rescue ~
****(4) out of 5 Stars
Technically, this is book #5 in the Shifter Ops series, although it contains only a couple passing references about the guys from Black Wolf Security. Instead, it centers on their helicopter pilot friend Teddy.
This book a lot of sweet goodness, interspersed with a fair amount of hot sexiness, a dash of danger, and a pinch of male stupidity.
Teddy falls for Lana before he even has an inkling that he is doing so. And of course she falls for him as well. I mean, how can she not? He's a big, attentive, protective, amazing Viking who saves her! And she doesn't even know the half of it. Slowly but surely, Lana begins to get her memory back, and to discover things she wasn't aware of beforehand. Most of which, unfortunately, isn't all that great.
But even without the love and support of the two most important men in her life, she is still very well cared for. Teddy's brothers adopt Lana almost from the moment they meet her. As well they might, since she is good to them in return. In fact, her relationship with several of them form some of the best ones in the book.
It's just too bad that Teddy has to go and ruin it all. Or almost so anyway. Thanks in no small part to the devious actions of some bad players, as well as advance emergency plans, the resourcefulness and determination of his brothers, and some plain old dumb luck, everything is allowed to work out in the end. Eventually.

Excerpt
I’m on my way back, my arms full of eggs, when I pick up the scent of an intruder. The front door of my cabin is open and swinging in the breeze. “Motherfucker…”
I pick up my pace, dropping eggs as I rush into the cabin. I make it just in time to hear Lana’s gasp. She’s standing in the bedroom door, her mouth hanging open. And in the kitchen is a big black bear, its face stuck into my ice box.
“No!” I snap, and wave my arms, forgetting I’m carrying the eggs. They spatter to the floor. I catch two of them and lob them at the bear. It scuttles back, but gets a yolk to the snout. Snuffing and sneezing, it shakes its head, spraying egg everywhere.
“Out,” I charge forward, keeping myself between the bear and Lana. I wave an arm like a traffic cop, gesturing to the door. The bear, who is really my brother Axel, gives me a reproachful look and ambles towards the exit. Halfway there, he stops and swivels his head towards my bedroom. He’s scented Lana.
“Now!” I bellow, getting behind him so I can herd him out. The idiot’s probably hung over and looking for easy grub in my fridge. Goddammit. I should’ve put out word that I was on a top secret mission, not to be disturbed.
By the time I get Axel out, my floor is covered in oozing egg yolks and broken shells. Both the fridge and the freezer doors are hanging open, and I have to shove a bunch of food back in to close them. One frozen package is pierced with claw marks–some deer sausage Axel made last year. I don’t know why he stored it with me. I’d forgotten it was there.
There are three small eggs that survived the fight. If I salvage them and the pack of sausage, I can make the human a full meal.
Oh, shit, the human.
Lana is still standing in the door, her brown eyes wide and staring. I hustle over to her.
“Lana.” I rest my hands on her shoulders and check her over. “You okay? Talk to me.”
Her lower lip trembles. “B-b-b–”
“Bear.” I gather her into my arms. This is the third time today I’ve held her, and damn if it gets better every time. “Yes, I know. He's gone now.” I raise my voice and holler out the window at Axel’s retreating form. “And he won’t come back.”
“He just wandered in through the door and got into the fridge,” Lana is breathless. “Guess the bears really are bad around here.”
“You have no idea.”

The One Month Boyfriend (Wildwood Society, #2), an all-new fake-relationship rom-com full of heat and laughs from bestselling author Roxie Noir, is available now!
It’s a simple enough agreement: for one month, Silas Flynn is my boyfriend of convenience.
He needs his old-fashioned boss to think he’s ready to settle down.
I need some arm candy to prove to my jerk ex-fiancé that I’ve moved on.
Perfect, right? Except for one minor detail: we can’t stand each other.
Everybody thinks he's this perfect guy, but I know the real Silas. He’s a cocky, obnoxious jerk who thinks he can charm his way out of trouble and get anything he wants.
But there’s one tiny problem with fake dating: it looks a lot like real dating. Worse, it feels a lot like real dating.
I know once this is over, we’ll go our separate ways. No matter the smoldering looks he gives me, the possessive way he touches me, or the dirty things he whispers in my ear, Silas isn’t falling for me.
That’s fine. No matter how good being with him feels, I’m not falling for him, either.
One month. That’s it.
~ BOOK REVIEW for The One Month Boyfriend ~
****(4) out of 5 Stars
This book was not anything like I thought it was going to be! The backstory for the starting point of things between Silas and Kat is not AT ALL what I expected. And the way the actual fake relationship progressed was not either. For that matter, even the night in the hotel bed is not what I was anticipating. But it all flowed together smoothly to make quite the story.
For two people who start out as enemies — and with very good reason on both sides even — they quickly develop a very genuine rapport. It doesn't hurt that each has some anxiety issues, which they themselves find very off-putting; yet which the other one accepts quite readily. It certainly serves to endear them to one another quickly. Not to mention the chemistry between them, which just about sparks and jumps off the page, it's that hot.
I was anticipating hearing more about the Wildwood Society, since that is the name of the series. We do meet the other members, and learn a bit about all of them, throughout the course of the book. Also, the final chapters do pertain more to that, including the location. But, still, I just expected... more from that quarter.
Overall though, a very good love story, with a most distinctive meet-cute, a delightful story, and a very happy ending.

EXCERPT
“Okay,” Kat says, reading from her document, and suddenly she sounds nervous. “The acceptable romantic actions.” I settle in a little more against the desk, getting comfortable. “Hand holding,” she starts, her voice low, not looking up. “Putting our arms around each other. Touching on the back. Touching on the shoulders and arms. Sitting close together. Quietly talking to one another. Hair caresses within reason. Non-mouth kisses in non-risque regions. Moderate cuddling while clothed.” The list comes out rapid-fire and staccato, and I’m not sure she pauses for a breath until it’s over. I grab a pen.. “I’d like a definition of within reason,” I say, making a quick note. “I mean don’t pet me or something, I’m not a cat. Are you going to make me define moderate as it pertains to cuddling, or can we both agree to a mutual understanding of the word and move on?” she asks, giving me a pointed look. “If I were your attorney I’d advise a completely new draft of this document five times longer and a hundred times more specific,” I say. “You don’t even have a breach of contract clause in here.” Now she’s pinching the bridge of her nose, glasses hoisted up. “I’m sorry that I wrote things down because I wanted to be sure we were on the same page about whatever the fuck it is we’re even doing,” she says, voice muffled by her hand but sarcastic. “Is there any chance we can just get through this and move on?” Something about the way she says it hits me right below the sternum, in that soft, susceptible spot: Kat with her shields briefly down, human for once instead of the stony, spiky creature who saw me at my worst and drove me down instead of having some mercy. Suddenly there’s a bend, some give, an acknowledgement of being made of flesh and blood, same as everyone. “We can move on to the second article,” I concede, and then the glasses are back. “Entitled ‘Acceptable actions when circumstances require’?” “Thank you,” she says, and reads. “Touching on the leg. Intense cuddles. Full-trunk embraces. Romantic-style face touching. Any sort of stroking. Mouth kisses. Verbal declarations of attraction. Kisses in moderately risqué locations.” She finishes, and I don’t hate hearing her say moderately risque locations. “When, exactly, do circumstances require?” I finally ask. I get a look, and hold up my free hand. “Honest question.” “When the situation calls for us to… need to demonstrate our attraction,” she says, quickly. I think she’s blushing, the faintest of pinks under light gold skin. “You mean when he’s around,” I say. “This is a list of things you want me to do in front of your ex.” She holds my gaze for a long time: three seconds, then five. “The things that’ll get him fired up,” I go on. Kat takes one deep breath, her chest rising, then falling under her shirt. “Yes,” she finally says, voice hushed. “This is what he’s gonna hate.” “When I hold you close and whisper something dirty in your ear,” I say, rephrasing the words in front of me. I say it to get a reaction from her, and her lips twitch like maybe she’s trying not to smile. “I think whispering would defeat the purpose,” she says. “Then I’ll hold you close and holler something dirty.” “As long as it works.” I don’t hate the thought quite as much as I might like. I wonder how she’d react, whether she’d blush or recoil. Maybe both. Kat seems complicated. “Home stretch,” I say, making myself relax back against the desk, banishing all thoughts of whispers. “The never list.” “No touching in the swimsuit zone,” she says. “No weird PDA. No entering one another’s domiciles. No bed sharing.” “That’s it?” “I’m concise,” she says, and that glimmer of amusement is back. “And don’t ask for a definition of weird.”

Kiss My Giraffe, a spicy grumpy sunshine romantic comedy, and the final standalone in the Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series from New York Times bestselling author Erin Nicholas, is available now!
Fiona knew Knox would be mad when she moved in next door. And not because she brought a collection of wild animals with her.
And she was right.
So she intended to leave him alone. Mostly.
But he’s not ignoring her. He’s actively working to send her and her “ridiculous menagerie” (rude) right back out of town.
Still, as hard as she tries, it’s impossible to stop thinking about the small town grump’s long hair and tattoos and that mouth.
Not the one that’s almost always set in a grim line and says things like, “you got a permit for that?”
Nope, the one that kisses her like she’s everything he’s ever wanted and says very dirty things in her ear. And sweet, protective, supportive things. Sometimes. Accidentally. When she catches him off-guard.
The one that also says he only wants a long-distance fling with her. Nothing serious. And that he never dates women he sees every day. Like his neighbor.
Well, fine. If he doesn’t want her—and her unbelievable past and that-can’t-be-real future—then she doesn’t want him either. He can just kiss her…giraffe. (Yeah, she actually has a couple of those.)
Now she just needs to convince her heart to give him up.
~ BOOK REVIEW for Kiss My Giraffe ~
****(4) out of 5 Stars
This book is just chock full of surprises! None of which I am inclined to reveal here, of course. Why spoil the surprise(s)? But let's just say that the revelations are plentiful and come from a lot of different places, some rather anticipated and others highly not. As usual with books in this series (and this genre of book in general), both of the main players have their own issues, but one of them is decidedly more of a butthead than the other. Still, we do, eventually, get to see quite a few sweet and also spicy moments between Knox and Fiona. Not to mention all of the amazing secondary players in both of their lives. Those encounters alone make the book well worth reading. But they are really nothing more than an appetizer. The romance between these two is definitely a very tasty main course, well worth the time it takes to consume it, even if that does end up being well into the wee hours on a work night. =)
I received a free eBook copy of this title from the Author and Social Butterfly PR, and have willingly provided an honest review.
“Remember that thing we talked about at Christmas?" Knox felt his gut clench. They'd talked about sleeping together. And him becoming the temporary foster dad to three baby otters. And they'd kissed for the first time. A kiss that had been causing annoying, unwelcome, frustrating dirty dreams for three fucking months. "About having a salacious affair where we sneak around behind our friends' backs and sleep together whenever I'm in town?" she pressed when he didn't answer. "Yes. I remember." Too well. He was incredibly pissed about how often he'd replayed that conversation and how restless he'd been waiting for her to call or come back to Autre. He didn't pine for women. Ever. He did the opposite of that. But now she was here. And Knox wasn't sure what he was feeling. Her showing up unannounced wasn't unusual. Fiona Grady rolled into Autre without warning more often than not in her grape-soda-purple truck that sent his heart hammering and cock hardening. But it had been three months since he'd seen her. Since they'd talked. Since he'd had any clue what she was doing, where she was, how she was. Suddenly, she was on his doorstep asking about their plan to bang whenever she was in town for a couple of days? "Okay, well, there's something I need to tell you that will make you not want to do that anymore," she said. "So I was wondering if maybe you wanted to get naked together once before I told you and ruined everything?" He opened his mouth to reply. Then shut it without a word. What the hell? He glanced over his shoulder. Three minutes ago, he'd been sitting at his kitchen table doing paperwork with a cup of coffee and listening to a podcast about new creative urban development ideas. Now the woman he was low-level obsessed with was on his porch asking if he wanted to have sex before she told him something that would make him not want to have sex with her anymore. He ran a hand through his hair. This was why Fiona Grady was no good for him. She came into his carefully controlled and organized life and made things chaotic and messy. "Are you sick?" he asked. "Sick? No." "Dying?" "No." "Is anyone dying?" "No." "Are you married?" He braced himself. He knew very little about this woman, actually, and if she belonged to someone else, he'd… leave her alone. And hate that man. And never forgive her for stirring him up like this. "Absolutely not." "Engaged?" "No." Okay, that was all…way too much of a relief. He should not be this happy to hear that. "Did you kill someone?" he asked. She tipped her head, her mouth curling. "Is that a definite deal-breaker?" No, probably not. Knox narrowed his eyes. "No, I haven't killed anyone." "Are the Feds looking for you? Or will I be implicated in some kind of crime if I let you in?" "Not that I'm aware of." "That's not a no." "I'm just being honest." Fair enough. Fiona was a wild animal advocate. The type of person to show up at roadside petting zoos and 'circuses' to monitor how the animals were treated and hand out literature to people attending the events, raising awareness about the poor conditions and treatment of those animals. She showed up to help rescue and care for animals, wild and domestic, after natural disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires. She regularly lobbied local, state, and even the national government for animal protections. The chance that she could have done something in the "gray area" for one of her causes was pretty good. The problem with that was he knew that wouldn't keep him from wanting her. She was precisely the kind of woman he should be avoiding. He studied her face for another long moment, then gave in to the inevitable. He pushed his door open. "Yeah?" she asked. "Yeah." She wasn't dying, wasn't married, and hadn't killed anyone. And he wanted her more than he'd ever wanted another woman in his life. So how was he possibly going to shut the door on her? After three months of missing her? He wasn't that strong. Or stupid.
