LAUNCH PARTY for Shelly Brown's "Ghostsitter"

I attended the Halloween Launch Party for Shelly Brown's "Ghostsitter" today
with my son, and we had a delightful time. She and her hubby are both so sweet!

I have to admit that I haven't yet read "Ghostsitter,"
but my son loved it and I am looking forward to it!

I have, however, read all of the "Cragbridge Hall" series, and they were a blast!

COVER REVEAL for "Bellamy and the Brute" by Alicia Michaels, coming from Clean Teen Publishing

Bellamy and the Brute
by Alicia Michaels
Published by: Clean Teen Publishing
Publication date: March 13th, 2017
Genres: Fairy Tales, Retelling, Young Adult

Synopsis:

When Bellamy McGuire is offered a summer job babysitting for the wealthy Baldwin family, she’s reluctant to accept. After all, everyone in town knows about the mysterious happenings at the mansion on the hill—including the sudden disappearance of the Baldwin’s eldest son, Tate. The former football star and Golden Boy of Wellhollow Springs became a hermit at the age of sixteen, and no one has seen or heard from him since. Rumors abound as to why, with whisperings about a strange illness that has caused deformity…turned him into a real-life monster. Bellamy wants to dismiss these rumors as gossip, but when she’s told that if she takes the job she must promise to never, ever visit the 3rd floor of the mansion, she begins to wonder if there really is some dark truth being hidden there.

Tate’s condition may not be the only secret being kept at Baldwin House. There are gaps in the family’s financial history that don’t add up, and surprising connections with unscrupulous characters. At night there are strange noises, unexplained cold drafts, and the electricity cuts out. And then there are the rose petals on the staircase. The rose petals that no one but Bellamy seems to be able to see. The rose petals that form a trail leading right up to the 3rd floor, past the portrait of a handsome young man, and down a dark hallway where she promised she would never, ever go…

As Bellamy works to unravel the mysteries of Baldwin House and uncover the truth about Tate, she realizes that she is in way over her head, in more ways than one. Can her bravery and determination help to right the wrongs of the past and free the young man whose story has captured her heart?

REVIEW: "Centurion and Emperador" by Rob & Patricia Schneider, illustrated by Francisco Herrera

***(3) out of 5 stars

This book was okay, and kind of cute in it's way.

But it pretty much skimmed over every part of the story; you actually learn more from the description than you do from reading the book.

The graphics are clear and bright; but the Mama Goose looks like Daisy Duck, and what in the world is up with the horses' ears?

I received a free e-book version of this title as a Read Now offering from NetGalley, to whom I provided an honest review.

BOOK BLITZ: "Dawn of the Vie (Immortal Aliens, #1)" by Laura Diamond

Dawn of the Vie
by Laura Diamond
(Immortal Aliens, #1)

Published by: Curiosity Quills Press
Publication date: October 3rd, 2016
Genres: Dystopian, Science Fiction, Young Adult

Synopsis:

Since their Arrival less than 30 years ago, immortal Vie rule the planet like the super-predators they are. Enslaved humans are their servants…their entertainment…and their food. Anemies—humans with various types of anemia—are simply exterminated. Their nutritionally deficient blood is useless to the Vie.
Or so it’s thought…
_________
Alex, an Elite Vie, is a bit of a Renaissance Alien. Part scientist, part Raid Specialist, part drug addict, he knows Anemie blood is valuable. Rather than blindly carrying out his boss’s kill order, he convinces some colleagues to spare a few Anemies, not only for study, but also to reserve a secret stock.
The more Anemie blood Alex drinks, the more he slips into delusion, and the more his double life threatens to crumble. But quitting Anemie blood is not an option. Every Anemie has their own personal flavor. Each gives a unique high.
When Alex takes a hit of Justin’s blood, his hallucinations bleed into reality…
_________
Anemie Justin knows his little sister, Sammie, and he are living past their expiration dates. It becomes a guarantee when they’re bitten by a Vie named Alex during a raid. (The bite is fatal, thanks to a toxin carried in Vie saliva.) Alex adds insult to injury by promising Justin a second chance—an antidote in exchange for agreeing to be a lab rat.
And a mule…of his own blood.
When Justin says no, Alex takes off with Sammie.
All Justin has to do is find them, beat Alex, and cure himself and Sammie. All he has is a stake and serious lack of self-preservation.
No problem.
_________
Alex wants Justin’s blood.
Justin wants his sister back.
GAME ON.

Who is Alice England?

Some of you may have heard of Alice England. She’s the star of an upcoming mystery novel from Curiosity Quills. Alice has talked the publisher into running a little game – a find and unscramble-the-letters puzzle to reveal the title of the book, set to release October 17, 2016.

The 13 letters are scattered across a number of book blogger and author websites, each linking to the next. Start the trail at http://bit.ly/2dEZofi to collect the letters. You will finish up at the entry form to submit your guess and go in the drawing. The prize bundle includes a 2-book pack from Curiosity Quills and a print of your choice by Evie Seo.

When you submit your guess, you will also find out the correct title and get to see the cover in advance of the official reveal. Look for letters in an aquamarine square with the seashell key symbol (like the one at the top of this post).
Good luck!
