SYNOPSIS:
I’m Krystin Blackwood, and six months ago I almost killed everyone I cared about.
I’ve been on my own ever since, watching my back for my team to exact revenge. But when the world I left comes knocking, I have no choice but to run back to my team… and deliver heart-breaking news.
Apparently, Lady Azar has turned Riley into a demon and she’s moving up her plans to use him as a path to the City of Alzan. Unfortunately for the Fire Circle, without my help and destined magik, Alzan doesn’t stand a chance. And neither does Riley.
So, despite my team’s hatred for me and my near-criminal status in the Fire Circle, they’ll have to trust me if we have any hope of stopping all planes of existence from imploding. Assuming we can all be civil long enough to do so.
Somehow, I think that might be an issue.
REVIEW:
This was an amazing wrap-up to “The Hunter Circles”
series! There was so much that happened,
not only with existing storylines, but new ones as well. It was almost impossible to keep up with the
action, not to mention all of the players.
The amount of and different types of magic, not to mention how much it
shifted between individuals, was breathtaking.
It all definitely keeps you engaged and wanting to continue
reading!
The relationships within the main band of characters (Ben,
Rachel, Nathan, Krystin & Shawn), along with several peripheral sorts,
really grew and developed, as did the individuals themselves; an amazing amount, really, considering the relatively short period of time that the series covered in their young lives.
Without offering any spoilers, let’s just say that things
don’t exactly go as you would anticipate; certainly not as the players would
like, in many instances. Despite many
challenges still ahead, there is ultimately a fairly satisfactory and
relatively happy ending for Ben, Krystin and their crew, of which I was glad. They certainly earned it!
