~AUTHOR INTERVIEW with Alexandrea Weis~
1) What gave you the inspiration for the
storyline?
The story began as a collaboration with Lucas Astor and has grown
into a series. The third book Bound will be released in 2018, with more books
planned after.
2) Are there any hidden themes in the book
that you hope readers will discover?
Magic is everywhere and what we believe
may not always be true. I think the character of Lexie Arden learn that as she
evolves throughout the story.
3) Are any of the characters based on real
people you know?
All characters are based in part on people you know. It’s what
helps to make them real. Magnus Blackwell in this book is unique. I’m not sure
I’ve ever known someone so diabolical.
4) Who has influenced you most as a
writer?
Several people growing up fostered my imagination, and then there are
the writers whose books have fanned my love of reading and inspired me to write
my stories.
5) If you could have any three literary
characters over to your place for game night, who would you invite, what would
you play, what would you serve, and why?
I would spend time with James Bond from the James Bond novels, by Ian Fleming, Count
Dracula from Dracula, by Bram Stoker, And Dorian Gray from The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. All three men have very dark
sides and to understand their thinking and drive Monopoly would be best game to
play. Vodka martinis, bloody Mary’s, and champagne would cater to each
character’s tastes.
