Dark Wish
by Yumoyori Wilson
Publication date: September 8th, 2017
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance
What do you get when you add free and dumb?

FREEDOM

My name is Makoto Heart and I’ve always wished for a chance at freedom. Every day, I prayed before the Starlight gods, asking for their divine assistance in accomplishing such a difficult task.
Being an experiment for as long as I can remember, my hopes of obtaining freedom have diminished, drastically. The disappointment haunted me, as myself and my spirits struggled to survive. I had no hope left, believing my final plea fell upon deaf ears, yet again.
But what happens when my prayers are finally answered? I’m thrust into fulfilling a destiny, with the help of six star knights. Suddenly, I am no longer experiment 555, but the stolen princess of Heila.
Freedom, how you have teased my troubled soul. May the Starlight gods guide me and my knights, on this path towards the unknown.
~In Stars We Trust~
Dark Wish is an extraordinary new paranormal reverse harem series.
Recommended for 18+ audience, containing mature sexual content and strong language.

~AUTHOR INTERVIEW with Yumoyori Wilson~

1) What gave you the inspiration for the storyline?

It's been a story I’ve been thinking about for a year. I didn’t really have any inspiration. It was a simple thought of writing about a girl who had a hard life but was given the opportunity to start anew.

2) Are there any hidden themes in the book that you hope readers will discover?

There’s a few hints and secrets that linger within the book. A few my readers have caught and have remembered when they’ve read book 2. I’m hoping with the third book they’ll finally see the string come together.

3) Are any of the characters based on real people you know?

Not in this series.

4) Who has influenced you most as a writer?

There were multiple people really. I never imagined myself being a writer. I was a nurse and was perfectly fine with my career choice. I think it was just seeing other authors achieving their goals and sharing their passion that pushed me. But, I guess the person who pushed me to become a write was my Mom after I shared my idea with her and started working on it.

5) If you could have any three literary characters over to your place for game night, who would you invite, what would you play, what would you serve, and why?

Makoto Heart, Scarlet Sinclair and Cece Alexandra Rose. It would be monopoly and we’d serve alcohol because Makoto and Scarlet are hilarious drunks. Cece would just smile and take a video of everything that occured to tease them later.

6) Do you feel that you can ever have too many books?

What? LMFAO. Hell nah. One can never stop their imagination from flowing so you can never limit the amount of books you read in life.

BOOK BLITZ for "Dangerous Moves" by Karen Rock

Dangerous Moves
by Karen Rock
Published by: Kensington
Publication date: February 13th, 2018
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense
Pounding music. Sculpted men. And a conspiracy that could cost far more than a few dollar bills...
HOT COP
Detective Blake Knight has been undercover before. But an assignment to bust a steroid ring running out of Dallas’s elite male strip club means his new cover will be nothing but his own taut muscles and oiled skin. It’s one thing for the tough, by-the-books agent to take down bad guys with his gun. Facing a rowdy crowd in only a G-string is another story... especially in front of his new boss, gorgeous, mysterious Reese Landon.
Her father’s club and shady business practices bring back terrible memories for Reese. But when he’s shot and goes into a coma, she vows to protect him the way he never did for her. That means keeping the police at a distance — especially sexy, driven Detective Knight. If she has to give him a cover job, it would be a crime not to put that glorious ass on stage. But no matter how good he looks in a Velcro uniform, she can’t trust him, or give into the undeniable heat between them. They’re both chasing the truth. And it might expose more than either wants to show...

Excerpt:

“Look, lady. I’m not one of your pretty boys.” Blake cleared his throat and breathed in a steadying gulp of air. Too bad Reese’s scent filtered through as she glided around the desk, seducing his senses with the knowledge of how she smelled.
Clean. Like soap rather than fragrance. The intimate realization made him want to know what her hair smelled like too. Hell.
“No. But variety spices things up, don’t you think?” She leaned against the desk and cocked her head. “Take off your clothes.”
He stepped back and crossed his arms, shock rippling through him. After a moment, he managed to unclamp his jaw and say, “Not happening.” She pouted and made a noise that sounded more amused than sympathetic. “Too bad. I can’t 'hire' you without an audition. So, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got work to do.”
His feet stuck to the floor as she brushed by him. Her hand landed on the doorknob before the truth hit him. She wanted him out of here and had no intention of letting him go undercover in the club. She’d made it impossible on purpose. To hell with that.
He could impose his will, but then he’d jeopardize any chance at building rapport with her, a critical tool of his undercover work.
He pulled his gun belt out of the back of his pants, placed it on the chair and whistled, making her head snap around. When her eyes fixed on him, he tugged his T-shirt from his jeans, lifting it slowly, inch by inch, the air conditioning making his abdominal muscles contract. When the tee reached shoulder height, he pulled it off and tossed it at her feet.
There. She wanted a show, and he’d give her one.
Reese sucked in her cheeks, her gasp filling him with pleasure, strong and tart. Had she thought he’d back down? She’d learn, soon enough, he didn’t run from challenges… ever.
At last her mouth closed, and she stepped closer, chin raised. “Not bad. Why’d you stop?”
“Because you can’t handle seeing the rest. Trust me.”
One eyebrow arched, and she gave him a speculative stare. “Didn’t peg you for the shy type. Guess a job here won’t work out after all.”
His head jerked back. She wasn’t letting up on this little game. She believed if she pushed him hard enough, she’d get rid of him completely.
He set his jaw.
If she wanted more, he’d sure as hell give it to her.
His fingers fumbled with his belt before yanking it loose and dropping it to the floor. He hesitated a moment, his hands on his zipper.
Now or never.
He slid the iron teeth apart and turned on his heel, dropping his jeans and boxer briefs so they pooled at his feet. The air slid across his bare skin, her sharp intake of air the only sound in the room.
He planted his feet far apart to give her some bonus footage and peered at her over his shoulder.
“What’s the verdict?”
Her mouth worked silently, her eyes saucer-sized.
“Want me to turn around?” He bit back a chuckle, enjoying this sexy cat-and-mouse game.
“Hell, yeah,” she breathed.

BOOK BLITZ for "Mating Games (Wolf Hollow Shifters, #2)" by Nikki Jefford

Mating Games
(Wolf Hollow Shifters, #2)
by Nikki Jefford
Publication date: February 13th, 2018
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance
A FEMALE GUARDING HER HEART...
Hot-tempered, agile, and jaded, Jordan spurns the match her father is pushing between her and the swaggering mammoth, Raider. She’d happily let one of her fawning sisters take him, but her packmates are taking bets on who Raider will ultimately claim. Jordan wants nothing to do with the insufferable beast... until he saves her life.
A MALE CARRYING THE WEIGHT OF HIS PACK...
All brawn and no brains, that’s what most male shifters think when they see Raider. The females treat him as a strong, attractive prize they want to sink their claws into. Only one female avoids him, which is fine with him until they are paired up for patrol. The hot-blooded she-wolf doesn’t have to like him, but she’ll have to find a way to perform her duties.
ENTANGLED IN A WEB OF DECEIT... AND DESIRE
When Jordan’s life is threatened, along with several packmates, the mating games take a dangerous turn. Something sinister is happening in Wolf Hollow and outside forces threaten the impassioned bond forming between two shifters fated to be together.

Book 1 – Wolf Hollow – is only 99¢ for a limited time!

Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo / Google Play
EXCERPT:
A figure flew around the bend, emerging through the thicket on two long legs. Jordan screeched in surprise when she saw him directly in her path. Seconds later, her eyebrows slashed across her forehead angrily as she regained her composure. As Raider shifted, crouched on the ground, she spun around to avoid seeing him naked.
Jordan kept her back to him. “What were you doing snarling in the middle of the trail like a mad wolf?” she demanded, gesturing with her arms.
She looked ridiculous addressing the trees rather than facing Raider as he stood and dusted himself off.
“What were you doing crashing through the forest like a vulhena on the attack?” Raider fired back.
Jordan whipped around, mouth agape as though indignant. With her jaw clenched, she shot him an incredulous look that faded as her eyes slid south, inch by inch, as though drawn down against her will. Her gaze brushed over him where the wind did not. It slid down his chest and slipped further yet, to his thighs and the hardness between.
A moment of pride swept over Raider when he caught the whites of her eyes as they widened right before they snapped up and met his. Her cheeks flushed bright red. She twisted around, causing dust to rise around her ankles with her speed. His cock tightened and pulsed at the sight of her pert back end, as though she’d turned in offering rather than aversion.
Normally not one to taunt, Raider couldn’t help himself now. “Don’t tell me you’ve turned shy, Jordan. It’s not like you haven’t seen a cock before… Well, maybe not one this big.”

BOOK BLITZ for "The Poison of Woedenwoud (Magicfall, #3)" by K. Ferrin

The Poison of Woedenwoud
(Magicfall, #3)
by K. Ferrin
Publication date: February 12th, 2018
Genres: Adult, Fantasy

Magic is draining from the world threatening everything, the tatters of her own family, the warlocks, and the Mari alike. Ling and her companions search desperately for the key to ending it all, but warlocks dog their every step. Meanwhile, Ling, isolated and afraid, struggles against a rising tide of darkness far more threatening than anything in the Darkling Sea.

Excerpt:

Ling slammed the book closed and tossed it to the bed next to her before moving across the room and staring down at the woman lying there. Ling could remember nothing of her, of what they’d been through together, of ever having met her. But there were pages and pages of writing in the grimoire detailing all of it. There was more of Fern in those pages than anyone else. They had become allies and friends as they’d made their way through the vagaries of this never-ending war. Ling marveled at that even now. She’d been so certain she’d never have such a relationship again, but the abuse she’d experienced because of what she was had stopped at the borders of Brielle. Even Fariss didn’t hate her for what she was, though his desire to destroy her was no less.
Ling ran a finger lightly along Fern’s blue-scaled cheek. Warm, dry, a hint of roughness beneath her finger. She needed to talk to someone about what she’d read, what she’d been through, the hate and anger she was feeling. She wished fiercely that Rudy were here with her. Or, more accurately, that he had stuck by her side as she would have done for him. But he’d said nothing and done nothing as Laera had tried to kill her. His face had been twisted with anguish, but what good did that do her? He’d done nothing, lifted not even a finger to help her. She wanted to punish him too.
Perhaps Fern was the only friend she had anymore, but she didn’t feel like a friend. Ling dropped to her knees and rested her head beside Fern’s ravaged shoulder. She tried to dredge up something, some memory of their time together, some feeling for the woman lying on the bed in front of her, but there was nothing.
Of the others, she barely knew Dreskin, and even if that hadn’t been true, he’d brought Celene aboard this ship. Celene, the mother of the man who’d raped her. Her daughter Amalya too, a girl who was physically close to Ling’s own age, but mentally still a child.
Dreskin had been there; he had yanked Fraser off her and had dragged him up to see the captain. He knew what sort of man Fraser was, and had brought that woman aboard anyway. He was no friend of hers.
Captain Drake had helped her, and continued to help her, but she’d also allowed Ling to walk out into Marique with Fariss. Drake had known what Fariss was capable of, but had said nothing to stop Ling from leaving with him. Ally she might be, but she was hardly reliable.
And not one of them understood what it was like to be cut so perfectly adrift from everything you knew and from everything you were. Only Fern knew what it was like to be so different, so hated for that difference, and so completely alone. Ling was the only changeling in the world who thought and felt and looked so completely human. Fern was one of the last two Mari in the world, and may actually be the last if Alyssum had succumbed to her injuries. She and Fern were the only ones in all the world that completely alone.
Ling reached out and wrapped her fingers around Fern’s hand. She didn’t remember anything about this woman, but she did feel a kinship with her nevertheless. An odd sort of one, based entirely on words she didn’t remember writing in a book she never remembered seeing before, but it was there.

BOOK BLITZ for "Baby on the Bad Boy's Doorstep" by Victoria James

Baby on the Bad Boy’s Doorstep
by Victoria James
Published by: Entangled Bliss
Publication date: February 12th, 2018
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Connor O’Leary knows nothing about babies, families, or good women, yet he’s up to his ears in all three. Coming to Shadow Creek, Montana was meant to be a new start for this former oil rigger, but he had no idea that fresh beginning would include a baby on his doorstep and a hot nanny he can’t stop thinking about. Diapers, feedings, and late nights soothing his little bundle of surprise were definitely not on his itinerary.
The last thing Haley Thomson expected to see is the reclusive Connor with a baby in his arms. Before she knows it, she’s volunteered as nanny — temporarily. Helping out with baby Rosie is a dream come true and fills a space in her heart she believed will never be filled. But falling for Rosie’s hot and sexy bachelor daddy is not on her to-do list… but boy would she ever like it to be…
EXCERPT:
She stopped crying and opened her eyes, and he swore to God in that moment, when her large blue eyes latched onto his, when he felt a jolt of recognition run through his body, that this was his kid.
Except she was scarier than him, especially as her mouth opened wider and she let out a roar that would scare the crap out of a bear. What the hell was he going to do? Jack. Jack knew about babies—he had two.
He grabbed his phone and called his friend. “Yeah?”
“I have a situation,” he managed to choke out.
“Take a cab.”
“No, you idiot, I’m not wasted, I’m at home. You need to get over here. Now.”
He heard grumbling, muttering, and then finally, “Be there in ten.”
“Wait. Bring baby things.”
“What?”
“Baby things. Like, whatever a baby would need to, you know… live.”
“Oh man, this is starting to sound really bad.”
He hung up the phone and looked down at the baby. His daughter. Or Tess Junior, as the name on the birth certificate stated. He was going to have to change that when he applied for paternity. If he applied. If she was his.

BOOK BLITZ for "Bad Wolf" by Jo Raven

Bad Wolf
by Jo Raven
Publication date: February 8th, 2018
Genres: Adult, Romance
This is no fairytale…

Once I fell in love with a gorgeous boy next door.

Years later, he’s back — a total hunk, hot as hell, and bad. So bad.

Rude. Cocky. Hard.

And I’m dying for a taste.
Jarett was our neighbors’ adopted son.
Handsome, strong, quiet, he was my protector, and my friend.
Now he’s back, and he’s still gorgeous.
Tall, dark and sexy. All man.

But he’s a bad guy, moving with a dangerous crowd.
So why do I keep winding up in his arms?
On his lap. In his bed.

I know better than this — I’m better than this. I should stop.

Only my heart tells me there’s good inside Jarett.
That I could save him.
Then again, what happens to gullible girls who climb into bed with the big bad wolf?
…Right.

Excerpt:

Gigi is standing at the open door, the loud rock music spilling out into the alley. She looks left, then right, as if searching for someone. No great leap of the imagination required to know she’s looking for her friend.
And she sees me. Her gaze stops on me.
She steps all the way out and lets the door close behind her. “Rett?”
Fuck. This is fucking bad. I suck on my cigarette and wait. Maybe she’ll take the hint and go away.
But Gigi never cared what I said or did, back then. She stuck by my side through my silences and snarky comments.
Obviously she hasn’t changed.
She heads straight to me, plants herself in front of me and shakes back her white-blond hair. “Rett. What now, you’ll pretend you can’t see me?”
Damn, how could I ever pretend that? She’s wearing a low-cut red sweater over a tiny skirt and those damn knee-length socks that drive me crazy. Girl likes wearing red. And damn if I can tear my eyes away from her cleavage.
I’m so fucking hard I’m about to bust a nut.
“What do you want?” I mutter, flicking ash from my cigarette, a thoughtless gesture, when it becomes clear she isn’t budging.
“Did you see Sydney out here? I’ve lost her again.”
She smells of something sweet, like toffee. My mouth waters. My dick throbs. She smells like home, and like pleasure, and like danger all at once.
“Go away, Gigi,” I whisper. “Go back inside. That’s where your friend is.”
“So you saw her.”
Throwing my cigarette away, I take a step toward her. “Go now.” She’s wearing down all of my self-control. I have to send her back inside, send her away from me. Having her around is risky on a thousand different levels.
She takes a step back. “Not unless you tell me what you saw. Did she buy drugs? Tell me, Jarett.”
“And what will you do if I tell you?” I back her into the club’s fire escape ladder. “What the fuck can you do about it?”
“Not me. She won’t listen to me, or talk to me about this. But you could help me.”
I blink, not sure I heard her well. I’m looking down into her pretty eyes, at her full, red mouth, and shake my head. “What did you say?”
“For old times’ sake, Rett… I need your help.”

EXCERPT:
The path next to the pool ushered us by the grand staircase and down more steps toward a courtyard. Tucked in the corner was the cottage. I hugged my belly to keep myself from squealing or jumping up and down. It was perfect. And too good to be true.
“Why are you doing this?” I asked.
“I need to rent the place, and you need a place to stay. I’m doing it for the money.”
“Because you obviously need more of that.”
“Everyone needs more money. That’s what money does.” He dug his hand in his back pocket. In the stark sunlight, he might as well be shirtless. The thin material of his T-shirt didn’t do much to cover his muscled torso, and I got lost counting the ridges on his abs. “Go ahead and take a look.”
“I’m sorry. What?” I cleared my throat.
He showed me a key. A knowing smile appeared on his face for a split second. “What are you here to see?”

DESERVING IT is a steamy, standalone romantic comedy from RITA Winning and USA Today bestselling author Angela Quarles with a happy-ever-after and no cheating or cliffhangers.

REVIEW

This third book in the Stolen Moments series was just as delightful as the first two!  I wasn’t quite looking forward to this book as I was the last two in the series (Earning It and Risking It), because the main characters here were two of my less favorite to appear prior to this: Claire and Connor.  Unlike Pepper & Luke and Jane & Aiden, these two seemed a little more abrasive.  Claire is kind of pushy and “prickly” in the prior volumes; while Connor’s “no nonsense” attitude and Irish accent were a bit off-putting to me.  But they both proved to be totally darling characters!

Once again, this tale was told in alternating perspective, from his point of view and then hers, alternating by chapter.  I usually don’t like this method of storytelling, because I tend to find it rather confusing.  But the author clearly labelled their individual sections, as well as very easily gave each of the characters their own distinctive voice.  And it was nice to learn how each of them was thinking and feeling about the events that were unfolding.

The story dealt a lot with the individual insecurities and personal baggage of Claire and Connor.  This one, much more than the others, also involved quite a bit of family drama for them to wade through.  It made them both seem like much more complex characters than otherwise would have been the case.

There was quite a bit less action in this tale due to the limitations of its creation, i.e. basically being stranded in a hotel room during a hurricane.  Just about every scene in the story was entertaining though, even when they are involved in such mundane things as doing their laundry and heating up frozen pizza.  The strip-poker scene was amazing, and the other love scenes nearly equally as hot.

Since this story is about the captains of the hurling team and the female equivalent camogie, I was quite worried that there would be an awful lot of sports situations and lingo this time around.  In fact, however, there was even less reference to the games than in the prior editions.  Something that pleased me as a non-sports fan.

I definitely recommend this great read, and the others in the series as well.  I am totally bummed that this the last book in the series!  I wish the author were continuing it with ALL the members of the hurling team, just so that I could live a few moments longer in this delightful world she has created.

I received a free eBook version of this title from the Author and from NetGalley,
and have willingly provided an honest review.

Excerpt:

I need a moment, because when he suggested poker, the words, make it strip poker, nearly popped out of my mouth.
I’m not horrified by that impulse. That’s not what’s making me pause.
What’s making me pause is the fact that I… well, paused. That’s not me. At least that’s not the me I strove so hard to become.
I’m the tough girl. One who expresses her wishes.
I wash my hands and dry them, taking my frustration out on the poor white towel. The flashlight on my phone is pointed straight up, as it rests on the counter, but it’s enough to see.
The thing is, if it was anyone other than Conor, I’d have said it just to get a reaction out of a male friend. And if it led somewhere, well, it depended on the guy, but I wouldn’t say no if it was all in good fun.
So why the damn pause? Some tough girl I am. My interactions with guys are always on my terms, and if they don’t like it, they can walk.
I yank open the door and smack into a large, hard, male body. “Ooof.”
Conor must have heard the door opening because he’s facing my direction. Which means all of my front is intimately pressed against all of his.
Oh, um, wow. His free hand settles on my hip, a warm, firm grip. “Chill the beans now there. Didn’t mean for you to take a hopper.”
God, I love all his expressions. A delicious, demanding heat coils through me, startling me of breath. I stand there stiff, as if contact with this hunk of Irish masculinity has inexplicably flash frozen me.
If I was a chick with a fully paid subscription to the flirt manual, I’d know what to do. Some coy word. Some signal that I’m interested.
Wait.
I don’t want him to know. He can’t know. If he learns, and rejects me, I might be tempted to change.
That springs me away from him, all right. And… smack. My head hits the door jamb, and I bow forward.
He takes a step so that my head is now pressing to his chest — oh God, his chest — and he cradles my head, rubbing the sore spot. “Jaysus. That had to hurt.”
“It does.” The gentle touch of his warm hands, his fingers carefully sifting through my hair and massaging my scalp, is starting to ease the sting. Man, that feels good.
Which allows me to open my eyes from their screwed-tight position. And notice.
Is that… Is that a bulge in his jeans?
“It does hurt,” I repeat for some inane reason as that swirling heat from a moment ago narrows into a blazing arrow of need straight to my core.
“Is this helping, yeah?” he asks, his voice low and near my ear, as his fingers continue working their magic on the sting.
“Yes,” I breathe as I watch him grow harder.
Seeing his reaction? Knowing there’s a better chance I won’t be shot down… changes things. And I’ve wanted him for so long it’s getting ridiculous at this point. I mean, I should just go with it, right? I have to believe that my walls are strong enough that I won’t change into a dang doormat.

And because I am that tough girl, I lift my head. “Now. About that poker. Care to make it strip poker?”
