Delaney might have done her job a little TOO well… and now her life has once again been turned upside down by aliens, this time by a deadly (and devastatingly handsome) alien prince in this explosive second installment of Chani Lynn Feener’s The Xenith Trilogy.
Delaney has been kidnapped by aliens. Again. After only a month back on Earth with her hot new alien boyfriend Ruckus, the deadly and devastatingly handsome prince Trystan has dragged her right back to his planet.
While some girls may dream of winning a prince’s heart, Delaney just wishes this one would leave her alone. Instead, she finds herself at the center of both a tense political battle between two alien kingdoms and Trystan’s romantic attentions, both of which are absolutely ruining the life she’s built on Earth. Not to mention the fact that she’s about to be crowned queen of a planet she’s barely even visited. Just another day in the life of an ordinary human girl.
Readers won’t want to miss Between Frost and Fury, the compelling, fast-paced sequel to Chani Lynn Feener’s Amid Stars and Darkness.
~AUTHOR INTERVIEW with Chani Lynn Feener~
1)
What gave you the inspiration for the storyline?
The basic storyline came to me while watching an episode of ancient
aliens. The storyline for the second book in the series in particular, came
from wanting to explore some of the characters that had been introduced in the
first. I was curious about their situations and who they were and wanting to
explore that.
2)
Are there any hidden themes in the book that you
hope readers will discover?
I wouldn’t say there’s necessarily a hidden theme, but I love how
Delaney always finds herself in these tough situations, and yet she somehow
consistently finds the strength to if not overcome them, then adapt to them. I
hope readers will enjoy that aspect of her personality as well, and maybe even
benefit from it somehow.
3)
Are any of the characters based on real people
you know?
They aren’t, no. Sometimes I’ll take tiny details from people in my
actual life and incorporate them into a character or two, but that didn’t
really happen much with this book. All of these characters had pretty distinct
voices from the get go; they sort of wrote themselves.
4)
Who has influenced you most as a writer?
That’s a tough
question, because I don’t believe there’s any one person who’s influenced me
the most. It’s more a group of people who I know or who I admire. Seeing
someone struggle and work towards their dream inspires me to work harder to
reach mine, so I get influence from all sorts of sources and people.
5)
If you could have any three literary characters
over to your place for game night, who would you invite, what would you play,
what would you serve, and why?
This is an even tougher question! There are so many great choices. I
think I would have to invite Aaron Warner, Kell Maresh, and Richard Campbell
Gansey III. We would play one of the various versions of CLUE, because it is my
all-time favorite game, and I would serve coffee and cupcakes, because I can
get a bunch of different flavors (and cupcakes are awesome).
6)
Do you feel that you can ever have too many
books?
That depends.
Are we talking about in my TBR pile, specifically? Because yes, that can get a
bit daunting once it starts piling up. But in general? No way! Give me all the
books!
